3487 Avenue du Parc appears to have been built between 1915 and 1920. Originally, the premises were occupied by a fur business, followed by a Singer sewing machine store. In 1976, the building was purchased by pastry chef Moïse Gautier, who owned the Belgian pastry shop next door. He opened the restaurant Chez Gautier, which became very popular in the 1980s and 1990s. The interior decor likely dates from that period, as the owner aimed to recreate the ambiance of Parisian brasseries. The restaurant closed its doors in 2013, and the building was acquired by a real estate developer. In 2014, a mixed-use commercial/residential project was submitted but rejected by the borough. Today, the property is still listed as a vacant building.
