In order to fully understand the importance of this site, a documentary file on the physical and historical evolution of the church was carried out by Brodeur Consultants in 2018 on behalf of the Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough and which underlines the historical, heritage, landscape and community value of this site that should ideally be safeguarded and enhanced. This in-depth study served as the basis for the borough’s heritage interest statement (in French), published in August 2018.
In 2023, the church was damaged by fire because of its state of vacancy. In 2024, the owner decided to convert the space into an event venue and to build an extension that would include residential units. A minor exemption application was submitted for this purpose and presented at a public consultation. However, despite these efforts, no concrete project has materialized, and the church was put up for sale in June 2024. As of 2025, it remains vacant.
