This is a rare building in the Art Nouveau style, designed in 1914 by architect Joseph-Arthur Godin (1879–1949), and one of the earliest examples in the city of reinforced-concrete construction. The SHDM is seeking to demolish it, citing structural defects. Located on a short, little-known street in the former Quartier Latin, it is a cousin to the Godin building, which was successfully incorporated into the Hôtel W on Rue Sherbrooke Ouest.
