A 12-storey hotel is to be built on the site of 1208 Drummond (http://imtl.org/image.php?id=11426).

The Borough of Ville-Marie has granted a demolition permit and the project is on the borough’s list of approved work sites. Yet despite its poor condition, this modest building is a perfect illustration of architecture that is in continuity with its surroundings.

According to the tax roll, the building was completed in 1870. The current property valuation is $837,200, with the building itself representing only $76,600 of the total. This is a ridiculously low amount for an example of heritage architecture located in the downtown core, on Rue Drummond adjacent to a fire station.
