This building is the work of the eminent late-19th-century architect Joseph Venne. Today, it is poorly maintained—or at least, what maintenance there is has failed to highlight the beauty of its architecture. The current owner is not taking care of it: the façade was redone two years ago but it is once again decrepit. For these reasons, I think it’s important that this building, which is a monument and part of the history of Montréal, be listed.

As of July 2025, there have been no developments regarding this building, and no potential or approved projects have been recorded.
