The large-scale building is located in a strategic spot in Old Montreal and features an attractive façade. Since its sale by the previous owner/tenant (Joseph Ponton Costumes) in 2014, it has not been used or maintained, posing a risk to the safety of the building and its immediate neighbors. In fact, during the winter of 2014–2015, the pipes beneath the street froze due to the lack of heating, raising serious concerns about the current condition of the building’s structure.
