Contacted by La Presse in 2014, the City of Montreal indicated that the pavilion was not part of the upcoming infrastructure projects:
“The City of Montreal has identified 21 priority structures for repairs, and ‘this pavilion is not on the list for now,’ explained Philippe Sabourin from the City’s communications department.
Sabourin added that the wall poses no danger to motorists and users of the Papineau/Des Carrières overpass bridge. By 2017, the municipal administration planned to invest $118 million to maintain its infrastructure, focusing on developing in-house expertise, as recommended in the wake of the 2009 water meter scandal.”
In 2025, a renovation project for the Papineau/Des Carrières underpass was planned by the City of Montreal. This project also includes the reconstruction of the pavilions. The architectural design for this reconstruction has not yet been detailed.
