A proposal to build a 13-storey building is on the verge of being approved in Old Montreal. The targeted site is currently vacant and used as a parking lot by residents of the surrounding buildings. The height limit for this sector is six storeys on Saint-Paul and LeMoyne streets. The proposed building more than doubles that: it requires a zoning change to take advantage of the regulations that apply to end-lot buildings on McGill Street, where greater height is permitted.

If this project is approved, others will follow, destroying the uniqueness, the urban landscape, natural light, and—most importantly—the heritage of Old Montreal.

The City wants this densification project to go forward, which we oppose.
