This important building, at a major intersection (Pie-IX Boulevard and Pierre-de Coubertin Avenue), testifies proudly to the architectural heritage of Pie-IX Boulevard.

It is important to acknowledge the particular value of architecture along with this major artery. This building was recently severely damaged by fire. It is vacant and boarded up. It would be very damaging if this district, currently being revitalized, were to lose this symbol and see it replaced by a modern condo building. We cannot wait until its dereliction or delays in the renovation work result in its demolition. It is magnificent.
