The promoter of a planned residential project consisting of 300 units (70% studio apartments) on Rue de Bleury has asked for a zoning bylaw variance to allow a building height of 25 m (the current maximum is 16 m). To satisfy the promoter, the City has already agreed to relocate an alleyway.

This project fails to properly consider the presence of the heritage residences on adjacent Rue Jeanne-Mance, and the family life of residents. The building as planned would not only cast a shadow on a large number of the residences on the block; it would also directly abut the alleyway.
