This residence on Boucherville Boulevard, built in 1958, has a mid-century architectural style that is characteristic of the neighbourhood. As mentioned in the January 24, 2021 article in Le Montarvillois, the owner of the residence has twice requested permission to demolish the residence in order to build two residential buildings on the then subdivided lot. The Saint-Bruno demolition committee denied both applications, in July and November 2020. However, the owner appealed the decision to the municipal council, which ultimately voted 5-2 against the demolition of the residence.

With this decision, the owner has exhausted his appeals regarding the demolition of this poorly maintained and derelict residence, but with great potential for preservation and requalification. He will be able to present a new project to the urban planning advisory committee, but the latter should not normally propose the demolition of the house. In view of the uncertainty as to the future of this unique residential heritage of the sector, we believe it is relevant that it be listed so that attention and vigilance be maintained.
