Dating from around 1900, this building (and three adjacent ones) was recently purchased by HEC Montréal for development of its downtown campus.

Of the four buildings, this one is clearly that displaying the greatest architectural quality, and also bears witness to a historical period of which few traces remain in the neighbourhood.

Its continued presence would therefore preserve a pleasant human scale as well as a thread of quality in the urban fabric.

The building was demolished in 2020 to build HEC’s Hélène-Desmarais pavilion, inaugurated in 2023.
