The Sisters of Sainte-Anne congregation has been in Lachine since 1861. They purchased the Allen farm in 1900 in order to build their mother house. The central pavilion was finished in 1906, with a second wing added in 1936 and a third in 1963. The main building is the subject of a statement of heritage interest, citing the value of its monumental façade. Both the Conseil du patrimoine de Montréal and the Comité Jacques-Viger have favourably received the conversion project, though it will still be submitted to public consultation. (Ref.: La Presse)
