In 2018\u20132019, Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec carried out riprap work on three weakened sections. This was intended as a temporary measure in preparation for the shoreline redevelopment, which was to be carried out in partnership with the CSDM (Centre de services scolaire de Montr\u00e9al), the Berthiaume-Du Tremblay residence, and the borough, in order to enhance each sector. However, citizens expressed concerns about the lack of consultation and the absence of an overall vision for the project.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, the Ministry of the Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change organized a public consultation to give residents a chance to voice their needs and expectations. An environmental assessment was also conducted, and the work was initially scheduled to begin in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec has since announced that the upcoming work will include \u201cthe removal of the fence at the end of the street, lowering of the riprap adjacent to the street, construction of a universally accessible ramp, and creation of landscaping.\u201d The work is scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2027.
