They are in the Art Deco architectural style, as illustrated by the regular ornamentation and the elaborate grills for the windows. The buildings protect the stairs that connect Des Carri\u00e8res Street to the Papineau Avenue viaduct.  <\/p>\n<p>The Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie municipal courtyard is next to the West building. In 2007, during a snow removal operation, a borough employee hit the small building. The openings (door, windows) were barricaded and the access to the Papineau overpass was blocked. The building was never repaired.  <\/p>\n<p>The East building, on the other hand, is still functional. By 2017, the municipal administration planned to invest $118 million to maintain its infrastructure, focusing on developing in-house expertise, as recommended in the wake of the 2009 water meter scandal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"704\" data-end=\"970\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In 2025, a renovation project for the Papineau\/Des Carri\u00e8res underpass was planned by the City of Montreal. This project also includes the reconstruction of the pavilions.
