It was inhabited by the architect and his family.<\/p>\n<p>An architectural jewel in the heart of Westmount that is unfortunately plastered today, obviously a victim of a lack of maintenance. Although it is located in an area of exceptional heritage value, as recognized by the City, we are concerned about its future. Will the City of Westmount ensure that this exceptional architectural landmark is preserved and restored?<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\t<section class=\"single-big-col\">\n\t\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-sm-10 offset-sm-1 col-lg-8 offset-lg-2 col-xl-6 offset-xl-3\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"title\">News<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"subtitle\"><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"text\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>After a major fire, this heritage home in Westmount was severely damaged. In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DN6o5VZCbHf\/\">Instagram post<\/a> shared in April 2026, the contractor states that the building was restored while preserving 60% of its original value.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEach stone was dismantled, numbered, and then reinstalled to respect the original architecture. Behind the preserved fa\u00e7ade, the interior and rear of the building were completely renovated and expanded.
